My Day at the Mr. Heterosexual Pagent Boston's Weekly Dig paper sent reporter Michael Broduer to cover the event on Saturday. He refers to me as a sneaky gay activist. Because I showed up with a pregnant straight woman???
On the other hand, you have to "prove it" sometimes if you're a dyke. I think women's church retreats are sometimes the ultimate Ms. Heterosexual contests.
You sneaky gay activist, you! :-D And just what was he?
I love that last sentence. Christine, I guess I've never been called upon to "prove it"--but then again, my mom is an engineer and former tomboy and my kid brother's the best househusband in the world. (That did it! :-)

Good article. I, too, like the perspective from Tom, Sr.
It may have been more sneaky to show up with a pregnant lesbian.
I like the comment from the two girls outside;
“I’m glad I’m not a guy,” she said. “I like being a woman. I like not having to prove it.”

Why do they feel they've got anything to prove? Why can't they just be what they are and not look around anxiously for approval?
Hey, you're straight, go you! Well done. So what?
